How does it work?

At Sailmates, our mission is to help people explore and adopt alternative mobile operating systems. For those who may not have the technical expertise to install (aka “flash”) a new OS themselves, we offer pre-installed phones with the operating system of your choice.

Since this isn’t a “click and buy” process, here’s how it goes:

  1. Contact us by email: contact[at]sailmates.net
  2. Specify the OS you’d like to have installed or the need that you have and the country where you live (living outside the EU is not an issue).
  3. The closest member to you will reply to your request, either you know what you want or we will suggest you something based on your need.
  4. If our suggestion suits you, you can wire transfer us the amount agreed-upon (device + shipping costs).
  5. We will ship the device as soon as ready.

Why is X OS not in the list?

  • Either we forgot about it, or no one has experience installing it. You can always ask about it.

Why can’t you list the prices here?

  • We buy the phone upon request. We do not have a phone stock. We will charge you the exact same amount (+ shipping costs) for the phone as we paid for. We do not charge a service fee, since this is a voluntary work.

Are the phones brand new?

  • No, we buy the phones from second hand markets. Despite that, we will always try to get phones in as close to new condition.
